Marie began the rescue shelter in 2003 by chance taking in a few dogs from the streets of Provadia. Since that time she has worked along side many others with a desire to make change to the attitudes towards street dogs in Bulgaria.
Twelve years on change can be seen on the streets and local government are finally investing in educating and promoting castration and neutering, however this takes time and there is still a lot to do. Marie currently has over 60 dogs looking for homes and several who will see there days out at her shelter. She relies on charitable donations of food, volunteers and charities in Germany who offer rehoming of many dogs each year. But this still leaves many absolutely wonderful dogs in the shelter. Hence a group of volunteers have set up this website to help Marie find new homes in the UK and across Europe to ensure as many dogs find the home they deserve as quickly as possible.
